Dr. Christal L. Eason, LMSW Biography
Dr. Christal Eason has been serving individuals, families, and youths for 27 years; with eighteen of those years being in executive management for large nonprofits in Michigan. Dr. Eason’s expertise in substance abuse, grief and loss, youth development, relationship counseling, and mental health has afforded her the opportunity to impact the lives of many people over the years.
From self-affliction and low self-esteem, to divorce and depression, Christal L. Eason, Ph.D, LMSW knows firsthand how to not only survive—but thrive—through the fires of life. Committed to converting her pain into passion, she uses her past struggles and strongholds to transform the lives of others, guiding them through transitioning their pain into purpose and prosperity. While many may choose a career, Eason understands that what she does is a calling—a non-negotiable one.
Uncompromising in her delivery, she intertwines God’s Word with personal life struggles and research trends to catapult individuals who are on the brink of change to their God-given destiny. After surviving the societal stigma of a dark-skinned girl in the hood, followed by bouts of poverty and welfare, Eason was eventually hired as a social worker at The Salvation Army. Receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Wayne State University, she was determined to keep going—against all odds. She went on to acquire a Master’s Degree in Social Work with an emphasis in Mental Health and Substance Abuse.
But, she didn’t stop there.
After completing select courses at the University of Phoenix, Eason was hired as Associate Professor and taught five years in the Social Science/Human Services Program. Completing coursework in the Ph.D program for counseling at Capella University, she later transferred to Newburgh Bible Seminary, where she received her Christian Counseling Degree and a certificate in Life Coaching. Coupled with her educational background, professional experience, and life lessons, she developed a plethora of workshops and programs to heal the mind, body and soul of women—ministering to the whole woman.
In 2009, Eason launched CLE Strategic Solutions, LLC and developed professional development training curriculum titled, “You Bring Who You Are to the Job.” Ordained as a licensed minister at Second Ebenezer Church in 2013 in Detroit, her love for the community and the ministry led to many accolades. In 2016, she received the Director of the Year Award from Spectrum Child and Family Services, as well as The Ruth Community Outreach Award. The following year, she was honored to receive the Change Agent Award from Your Change Matters.
Both her clinical and spiritual backgrounds allow her to render holistic services to heal the mind, body and soul of all she comes in contact with. Encouraging people worldwide to maximize life’s moments, she majors in using people’s broken pieces to position them for greatness.
Determined to impact the lives of others through various mediums, Eason has hosted annual Finally, I Choose Me conferences designed to uplift women and heal emotional pain from toxic relationships. Dr. Christal Eason has co-authored 6 anthologies and is the Author of Equally Yoked? Personality Type and Marital Satisfaction. Dr. Christal’s recent launch is her Coaching Business, Her Authentic Soul. This program is designed to help women release their false narrative of self doubt, fear, overthinking, and embrace their authentic purpose.
